Wednesday Wishes #6

Do you know some friends that won't receive a Valentine this weekend? I think that this could be a hard holiday for some. I thought a goody bag and a card would be fun.

I decided to use the sentiments from the Shakers and Sprinkles. You could substitute "with love" if that works better for you.

I am also linking this to Papertrey Ink's Day 3 challenge - Handmade tag and matching gift bag.

Sprinkled card
stamps: PTI - Shakers + Sprinkles

Destination

Are you traveling over the holiday weekend? I made this card a couple of weeks ago and was left with the inside of the simply framed die. I know I'm not the only one who hangs on to all the pieces that cover my desk.

The sentiments in this set are really nice. I hope everyone that is scrapbooking remembers to look for Destination in their stamp sets. Enjoy! ~Rhonda

Tickled Pink

I'm tickled pink that it is going to feel like spring for at least two days during spring break so I thought I would use some springy colors. I really like that the PTI feather set is designed for 2-step stamping.

I used a smaller feather for the inside.

Hope you are seeing signs of spring at your house. I'm ready!

Wearing the Smile you Gave Me

Happy Wednesday! We are half way through the week so that should put a smile on your face. If that doesn't do it I hope this card will!

I am using a new stamp set from PTI called Be Happy. It is a great little set when combined with the matching dies. The sentiments from Building Blocks fit perfectly on the die piece that you can stamp with the diagonal stripe. I just cut it in half. I love the little pierced holes in the scallop die.

hello

This was an easy card. The jar label die is one piece so I was able to do one quick pass to create the openings for my sentiments. This is the perfect layout for busy pattern paper.

You are Always . . .

A quick and easy birthday card is up today. I have lots of tag dies but I was so intrigued by this one from Reverse Confetti. I kept telling myself that I had enough but when it finally came back in stock I couldn't resist. It is a little short and squattie and I LOVE it!

I love the way the sentiment fits perfectly. I also inked the sentiment in Raspberry Fizz. I had considered black but am so glad I changed my mind. The pink brought the yellow paper to life. I was actually surprised at what a difference it made. Obviously I need to step out of my black sentiment habit.

friends

I'm enjoying working with a different color palette this week. I had been using lots of black and red as seen here and here. My love for pink continues though I'm pairing it with some blues and yellows. I'm also in a hurry for some SPRING! hence butterflies.

Does anyone else have a problem keeping their white embossing powder clean? As you can see in the picture there are touches of black or something. It seems wasteful to not put the unused back in the jar. Granted it doesn't look to bad in person but the camera sure picks it up.

Hope you are getting some sunshine in your neck of the woods.

We've Got Great Chemistry!

My final Valentine cards to share. Do you have some stamp sets that haven't seen ink??? I ordered Love Potion when it was released but had never used it. I really LIKE it!!

The first card uses more black and a POP of pink.

Do the recognize the "heart steam" on the second card? It is actually from another set called Tree Tops. It is perfect for the test tubes.

I hope you have a great day with those you love!!

You Make my Heart Happy

I had a lot of fun creating this set of cards. The inspiration was from an art journal page I saw on Michele Wooderson's blog. I tried to follow the link back to the creator but was unable to do so. I have enjoyed making some Valentine cards that are not red and pink.

I started by inking the grid lines in Spring Rain followed by polka dots embossed in clear. I continued to add layers of color. I think the pattern paper hearts really played up the grid lines on this card.

It was fun to add the text and music notes to the green hearts.

I LOVE the grunge circles from Precious Remembrance. A great basic for layering.

Supplies used on both cards
stamps: PTI - Trendy Tree Tops, Life's Music, Polka Dot Basics II, Background Basics: Text Style II, Geometrics, & Sheet Music; Verve - Wings of Love; Precious Remembrance - Mom & Dad, Positive Thoughts; MFT - Happy Heart Snowman

ink: PTI - Smokey Shadow, Limeade Ice, Ripe Avocado, Spring Rain

A Better Place

I made my ATC into a card. I just couldn't leave it alone. I used PTI's Tag  Sale #5 as the base. My oldest son asked why I was making so many cards with black. I guess I'm loving the black pattern paper that I have in several paper pads.

You can just barely see the Herringbone Impression plate at the top of the card. Have a great evening!

Just What the Doctor Ordered

I'm playing along with PTI 's Timed Challenge. The goal was to pick only seven items in seven minutes and complete the card in 17 minutes. My inspiration was my own COLD!! I've been eating soup for a couple of days.

This card was so simple to do. I also stamped "feel better" on the inside. The time to complete it was only 4 minutes and 49 seconds. I think I can enter that time for a new stamping record. Maybe there is GOLD in my future! Are you watching the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics tonight?

be my valentine

Good morning friends! I have another Valentine card to share. I put my new PTI - Stitching Lines die to work creating the grid for my tic tac toe board. When's the last time you challenged anyone to a quick game? Did you put the "x" in the magic middle spot? :)

I used a stamp from Precious Remembrance to create the splatters on the background layer. The only element popped up is the heart which will allow me to stick this one in the mail.

Thanks for spending a part of your day with me. ~Rhonda

Enjoy Life

Are YOU? Enjoying Life? I get pretty caught up in doing lots of stuff. Making cards and then not sending them out for someone else to enjoy or receive an encouraging word. Working in my garden and not cutting flowers to enjoy inside. So this week I promised myself I would

  1. send a card or two
  2. sit on the porch with a glass a wine to admire the hard work we have put into the garden.
What are you doing to enjoy life? I would love to know. ~Rhonda

happy Birthday

A quick and easy Birthday card today. The little flag dies are from MFT. It seemed like the perfect thing to pair with the fun happy font stamp. The 3rd flag is actually a hybrid of PTI's double ended banner die and MFT flag so it would have the hole at the top for the brad and be long enough for the sentiment. I can see using this layout again with more masculine colors.

We planted tomatoes this weekend and now we are worried about a light freeze.  Come on spring!! Anyone else ready for warmer temps? Have a great week!

Happy Birthday to YOU!

Papertrey Ink is celebrating their 6th Anniversary. Their annual Designer Printable is ready for download and I am playing along. I would love to win the adorable prize.

Fifth CARD!!  This birthday image is from Heather Nichols. Thanks Heather! I can't wait to see this one in stamp form. I hope we can put lots of different sentiments in the middle.

I used the flowers from Heart-2-Heart #7 and sequins! I used sequins for the very FIRST time. Love the shine they add. ~Rhonda

think pink!

My fourth card uses the fun Flamingo image from Erin Lincoln. Thanks Erin!  I didn't think I could color the flamingo well enough to do her justice so decided to work with black, white, and a pop of PINK!

I had already made some of the little frames with clear plastic behind them due to some inspiration from Jessica Witty for Valentine projects. Perfect for my heart.

I also colored her necklace and created a computer generated sentiment. Impression plates are playing a BIG part of my cards today.

Do you think my sweet hubs will notice that I'm creating cards instead of dinner? ~Rhonda

Birthday Candles

Papertrey Ink is celebrating their 6th Anniversary. Their annual Designer Printable is ready for download and I am playing along. I would love to win the adorable prize.

My third card features the candles from Lizzie Jones. Thanks Lizzie! I love the colors that she chose for the candles. I tried emboss and resist for the FIRST time with this card. I embossed the numbers from Countdown to Christmas and used some Blueberry Sky and Berry Sorbet ink to create the background. In real life the Blueberry Sky is a little softer.

Thanks for stopping by! ~Rhonda
