Do not fear . . .

Two different cards using the same Bible verse. I love that you can use different paper and small changes to create a new look.

The purple creates a softer feeling. Next time I think I will change the card base color. I think it might need a little more contrast.

My favorite is the frame created with the Hexagon Cover plate and the Bible verse inside. I like the modern feeling.

Have a great day! ~Rhonda

May Peace be your Gift . . PTI Oct Blog Hop

It's time for PTI's Blog Hop once again. This month it is all about breaking out of your comfort zone and trying out some non-traditional color schemes for a holiday card or tag!

Nicole Heady put together six non-traditional holiday color schemes to chose from. I selected the colors of Pine Feather, Oceans Tide, Pure Poppy, and Vintage Cream.

My starting point - I had just received these clear boxes (3 different styles) from Pick Your Plum. It's an online deal of the day. I have had great luck picking up some fun items for a great price.

Box #1 uses the largest Seeing Stars die cut from Ocean Tides pattern paper as the base. A scallop circle from the Limitless Layers: 1 3/4" Circle die cut from Pine Feather paper is next. The top is stamped with images from Countdown to Christmas in Ocean Tide ink.

Box #2 makes me HAPPY! A fun bow created with the Loopsy-Daisy die collection. The largest die left "open" followed by tulle that I gathered and then an Ocean Tide felt bow tied with a Pure Poppy button is all it took. The sentiment is from Holiday Lights. This is the 1st time I have used this sentiment. It stamped beautifully in Pine Feather ink.

Box #3 is a pillow box. I cut four trees from the Love Lives Here: Holiday die collection and glue them together to create a 3-D embellishment. The sentiment is from Layered Postmarks: Holiday. I don't know if you noticed this but the sentiments in this set are right justified which really give you extra room on tags for embellishments.  The 2nd tag has the gift recipients " initial" on a tag made from Fillable Frame #9 and the Block Alphabet Upper die collection.

A card to go with this ensemble was easy to create with the leftovers. Strips of pattern paper, a star die embossed with the By the Numbers impression plate and the sentiment popped up.

Hope you have fun hopping and gets LOTS of inspiration. ~Rhonda

Thankful Thursday #42

Thankful Thursdays are my opportunity to "Up My Gratitude." The goal is to make at least one card a week to thank someone. I LOVE when you play along by linking up below.

Feeling stripey today! The perfect way to use up paper scraps. I used the PTI Wonderful Words die for my thankful. It was easy to snip into syllables.

I had not used my Spellbinder dies in quite a while but they were the perfect size for my scallop and circle. I wanted most of the thank to be in the circle.

A little Mister Huey Color Mist helps the sentiment stand out.

Have a great week friends!~Rhonda

Forever Friends

Do you have a 4 ever friend? I have been blessed with several. The kind that are ALWAYS there for me through thick and thin.

I received this pattern paper and cute 4 ever friend note through the swap at the PTI Stamp a faire. Everyone brought stuff and I came home with this cute package of Glitz Whatnots. It is perfect for a girlfriend card.

I added a tiny tag with "You're the Best" onto the seam binding to complete this sweet card.

Enjoy your day friends! ~Rhonda

OK friends, I need help with this card! Not happy with it AT ALL. I envisioned a bulletin board hence the chicken wire background.

What would you do differently? I would love your suggestions. Can it be saved?

Hexagon Fun #2 - Hi There

Once you start playing with the hexagon cover plate you don't want to stop. PLUS there are SO MANY extra pieces of paper that I couldn't just throw away. MUST make something!

So what do you think about my flowers? I also used the PTI impression plate Simple Stripes to give a little more interest. ~Rhonda

Hexagon Fun - Hello Friend

I finally played with the hexagon cover plate from Papertrey Ink. I had a little trouble getting a clean cut but added some additional paper as a shim. New cutting plates didn't hurt the process either. :)

If you haven't downloaded Nicole Heady's hexagon color planner, you can get it here. Just scroll down a little. It was a life saver.

Once you start playing around you can't stop! The sentiment is from Think Big Favorites #3. ~Rhonda

50-70 Trip

I thought I would share a couple of pictures of our 50-70 trip with my parents. I turned 50 in June and my Mom turns 70 in November. We traveled up Highway 1 in California.

The first picture is in front of Pepperdine University. They have these flags up for the victims of 9-11. It is quite a sight.

The next is at the Reagan Presidential Library. What an incredible place to see. If you ever have the opportunity to visit, jump at it.

In Santa Barbara where we stayed for one night before moving on there was a Farmer's Market. They close down 2 blocks of Main Street every Tuesday and Saturday for vendors to sell their goodies. It was beautiful produce and flowers. I might eat my veggies if I could pick up this goodness every week.

I have some more pictures that I will save for another day. ~Rhonda

Thankful Thursday #40

Thankful Thursdays are my opportunity to "Up My Gratitude." The goal is to make at least one card a week to thank someone. I LOVE when you play along by linking up below.

I struggle to use busy background papers but was determined to make this work. I like having upper and lower case alphabet dies. So handy!

Have a great day friends! ~Rhonda

Thankful Thursday #38

Hi Friends! I am getting my Thankful Thursday up by the skin of my teeth. I got a head of myself last week and posted #39. I'm helping a friend with her daughter's wedding. It is outdoor and the weather is HOT! Hoping the cold front comes through a little sooner than expected.

I used the Mojo Monday sketch #261 as my inspiration.

I hope you are having a wonderful week. ~Rhonda
