Spread your Wings

I was playing around with stencils and paint. I love this stamp set from Verve. The heart with wings is pretty.

The raspberry fizz ink color is so pretty stenciled through the Mini Chicken Wire Mask. Text Style II is a little hard to see but fills the space so well.

I also used Distress Crackle paint (Rock Candy) for some shimmer.

I stamped off the fly and soar sentiments as well as rubbing white paint over them. Happy Friday! ~Rhonda

Wednesday Wishes #4

I almost feel like you need to play "I Spy" with these two cards. There are 3 differences I think. Too much to compute!!

Did you notice I used an impression plate on one of the tags? Adds texture.

I did the happy birthday sentiment facing out the 1st time. I think I like it better facing in. I also stamped the background flowers in different inks. I can't decide if I like the lighter or dark better. The card on the right also has a ribbon trim.

Love the button stack dies. I need to use them a lot more. ~Rhonda

Hugs - Papertrey Ink January 2015 Blog Hop

I'm playing along with the first Papertrey Ink Blog Hop of 2015. The theme is hearts. My card is very simple and I hope appropriate for college age boys/men. I will be including this in the care packages I am sending my sons for Valentine's Day. I figure a card and FOOD is always a home run.

I stacked 3 "hugs" die cuts together for the sentiment. The white panel was adhered with foam tape to add the dimension. I hope you have a happy Sunday. Happy Hopping!! ~Rhonda

Wednesday Wishes #3

Lots of different things happening on this one. I used several different colors of Tim Holtz distress inks to color my butterfly. I didn't keep up with the colors as I was just messing around. I did add a layer of vellum beneath the butterfly.

The quatrefoil cover plate makes a wonderful impression that adds lots of texture. I hope you are having a great week. It is a beautiful weather week in Texas. For me to not be wearing a coat is wonderful. ~Rhonda

Wednesday Wishes #2

I have a birthday card I created today for a college student. I thought she would like the bright modern colors and the typography feel.

I started by using a Tim Holtz distressing tool to add layers of the ink on white paper. I LOVE these colors together. Berry Sorbet adds the punch!

A few stars around the edges evened the weight out. ~Rhonda

Make it Monday #196 - Colorful Card Corners (Faux)

My cards today were inspired by Danielle Flander's recent PTI - MIM #196 Colorful Card Corners. I had already pulled this pattern paper out and was struggling to use it. Almost ALL paper pads have a couple of designs that fit this criteria. My colorful corners are faux but fabulous!!!

By cutting them out to have the big design in the corner you have the basis for a very quick and easy card. I embossed a large sentiment and WOW! I am done. Happy Girl here! ~Rhonda

Wednesday Wishes #1

My first post of 2015! A personal goal for myself this year is doing better sending birthday cards. The pattern paper was my starting point for this card. I loved the colors but it is busy enough that I knew I would need to have a frame of some sort. I consider Fabulous Frames as one of my go-to dies for this purpose. I actually die cut the frame out of the background pattern paper as well so the card would be easier to mail. I love that the sentiment from Fancy Folk Art is a perfect fit for the bottom of the frame.

Ruby Rose is a great flower set. Lots of different sizes to play with. Have a wonderful week! and I pray that your new year is starting well. ~Rhonda
