This card is for my Mom's birthday which was November 2nd! I was LATE getting it into the mail but think I'm safe to post today. Lots of patterns happening.
I did a little rock n rolling with the orange inks on the pumpkins. A few sequins and twine bow finish it off. ~Rhonda

Gratitude - Feather Finery
Tuesday, October 28, 2014
Do you get the Pottery Barn catalogs? Do you drool when they arrive? The lastest one had some beautiful feathers in browns for pillow covers. That was my inspiration for this card.
There are some wonderful sentiments in the Gratitude Journal set. I just need to use them more. I'm excited to finally have a bow die. I think it will become a go-to die for lots of projects.
I hope you have a fabulous week! I think this one is going to be busy!!!!! ~Rhonda

MIM #185 - Faux Stained Glass Falling for YOU
Wednesday, October 22, 2014
I thought I would make another card for this week's MIM #185 - Faux Stained Glass technique. This one is much simpler.
I used the die from the Make It Market Kit: Shakers and Sprinkles to dry emboss the frame for a focal point. I used my heat gun to set the ink and it gave the leaves a little bit of a warp but it works for this card.

MIM #185:Faux Stained Glass - Thankful
Monday, October 20, 2014
It has been forever since I have had time to stamp anything! I am thankful that my week will allow me some time to be creative. I NEED it!! Betsy's MIM #185: Faux Stained Glass was just what I needed to stretch my brain.
I am still getting the order of the shaker card pieces mixed up. You would think that as many times as I've watched Betsy's video that I could figure it out.
Have a great week! ~Rhonda

Autumn Tags
Tuesday, November 5, 2013
I went a little crazy playing with re-inkers, distress inks, etc and created a pretty paper that I turned into tags for autumn.
The 1st tag is the gratitude tag. I die cut the apple several times from cereal box cardboard and then went to town with the glitter. I hope you can see the background stamping near the bottom of the tag. LOVE it!
The 2nd tag is the leaf. I used the chicken wire stencil across the bottom. Modeling paste is really easy to use and dries quickly. You need to give it a try.
Have a great week! ~Rhonda

Celebrate Autumn
Tuesday, October 15, 2013
Well I think fall is finally coming to North Texas. We are supposed to be in the 50's tomorrow which will be a welcome change. I pulled out PTI's Leaf Prints to make an easy fall card. I was inspired by this card from Debby Hughes at Lime Doodle Design. I loved ALL the detail on the top 1/3 of the card but couldn't quite pull out the Christmas yet so went fall. I used the large Front & Center #1 die to create the scallop on the green dot paper.
I used lots of inks on the leaves. My combo's were Canyon Clay and Terracotta Tile, Summer Sunrise and Orange Zest, and finally Pure Poppy and Terracotta Tile together.
Do you have the Herringbone Impressions plate? It is perfect for fall.
Enjoy your week friends! Maybe I'll need to make some hot chocolate. ~Rhonda

Blue Pumpkins
Sunday, October 9, 2011
I'm playing along with the Mojo Monday sketch which I rotated for my card. I picked up some new My Mind's Eye Lost & Found paper pad at my LSS.
I stamped the pumpkins in brown ink and then used my Copic Marker C-3 to go over the lines to create more definition. It really does make a difference. The leaves are paper pieced for more layers.
I like creating a pattern behind my sentiment in circles. PTI's Mega Guideline stamps are perfect for this application. Just stamp off once.
What do you think about my orange border piece?? It was a happy "find." It was the scrap between my rickrack die and medium scallop border die embossed with a woodgrain impression plate. I used my Tattered Angels Glam Glitter paint on the twine so it would hold its shape.
supplies used:
stamps: Verve - Bountiful Harvest; PTI - Fall Elegance, Mega Guidelines,
paper: PTI - vintage cream, ripe avocado; My Mind's Eye - Lost and Found paper pad
ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
other: PTI - rickrack die, medium scallop die, woodgrain impression plate; Divine Twine; circle and scallop punch; Tattered Angels - Glam Glitter Paint

This was a hydrid project from Jessica Sprague's website.
Are you dressing up for Halloween? I think this will be the 1st year that no one is trick or treating from my house!!! How am I going to get my Butterfinger fix?????

MFT is participating in the "Hope You Can Cling To" card drive for breast cancer so I'll be sending this card to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. My MIL lost her battle with breast cancer in March. She was a 30+ yr survivor.

Quote Frame and Cherry on Top
Monday, October 4, 2010
This card was inspired by the recent Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. Jennifer Holmes created a card that utilized the mat stack die and fillable frame die. I fell in LOVE! so I had to try it.
I like this quote and it fit perfectly. I used my bow easy to create a perfect bow. I mistakenly put the glue dot on the wrong side so my polka dot tails are facing down but decided to let it go.
I can always count on these ladies for encouragement and great inspiration. They were some of the 1st ladies "I met" when I started this blogging adventure. Sue Ann and Nerina plant seeds each day for which I'm thankful.
......
And now I am suppose to share a photo and tell you something about myself . . .
I'm one of those people that if you talk about everything medical such as needles, etc I pass out!! COLD!!! it always made it a little awkward taking the boys to get shots! HA!
For a picture I thought I'd show you my Friday garage sale find. Check out this wonderful rug that I picked up for $80. It was perfect for my dining room.

I'm excited to pass this along to some of the people who I think are the
"Cherry on Top"
Nadine was one of the 1st people to welcome me on the Papertrey Ink Forum. Do you know that awkward feeling when you are posting and it seems like no one knows you and doesn't comment back? I love her creations and strong spirit.
Heather whose style is so recognizable and fabulous. When I was starting my blog, she kindly answered my tons of questions.
Terri whose use of templates makes me want to jump on the Cricut bandwagon.

Papertrey Blop Hop
Saturday, September 25, 2010
The challenge is to show off any skills you might have learned from a fellow stamper, and perhaps even give them a little shout out to thank them for the inspiration they have provided. Create a project using one of your favorite learned skills and perhaps after a little blog hopping, we will ALL learn some new tips and tricks and continue to pass on the love of this hobby!
The best thing I've learned is to rely on sketches to get the creativity going. Often times it gets changed so much it no longer matches but the jumping off point is important. I like Mish's recent idea of hanging up some of your favorites cards and CASing yourself! Though I'd rather CASe Mish!!!
I'm using a sketch from Mojo Monday for this card.
I am loving the new Framed stamp set. I keep finding more sentiments that fit. I ultimately used the sentiment from Fillable Frames #7 but sentiments from 2009 Autumn Tags work as well.
Happy Hopping Everyone! ~ Rhonda

Home Decor
Monday, September 20, 2010
I mentioned the other day that I had unpacked the fall decor and had purchased some of the tall glass containers that I'm seeing everywhere. The big decision was deciding what to fill them with and NOT spend any money. I used pine cones, white beans, and flowers.
The finishing touch is the owl I downloaded from the Graphics Fairy that I printed on vellum.

Today's card is digi hybrid happiness! Fabulous paper + funky frame + fun sketch = Spectacular Creation.
It's always about the details. Cutting the grid paper to match the curve of the frame and then the DP squares on the inside to match as well worked well. Do you love the frame with the owl? You can get it from Lindsay Jane's blog here.
Pop dots were needed for dimension of the pumpkin. I am loving this paper lots.

Just a reminder that I'm giving away the current Papercrafts magazine to someone. Scroll down.
Scary!! not really! I love today's card. This is the 1st time to ink up the Friendship Jars. My design is based on Unscripted Sketches. I really like the sparkle from the Silver Spica pen.

I found a new favorite paper for fall. They are digital papers and elements from Echo Park. I found them at Jessica Spray's site. They are a One Buck Wednesday feature. They are on sale until midnight today. I scaled them down for card making.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend. I'm going garage sale shopping today. Would love to find some ribbon or old books. ~ Rhonda
