Flip Flops

Life IS better in flip flops! My favorite footwear! What about you? The inspiration for this card comes from the Mojo Monday #298 sketch which I did not get posted to in time. Oh well, I still love this sketch!

We were in Katy, Tx two weekends ago for a wedding and guess what store was about 3 miles from the hotel???? Archivers! It was also my birthday so I did a little shopping for paper. One of the new paper pads I purchased was from Little Yellow Bicycle - Poppy.

The largest layer of the Bloom Builders #3 die made the perfect sun. I thought that stamping the sentiment in Pure Poppy was a nice change.

Are you getting ready for the weekend! ~Rhonda

Project Life - Week 21

This was a busy week. We were getting lots of spring storms with Moore, Oklahoma getting hammered.

The highlight was meeting Ann Voskamp, the author of 1000 Gifts. I love reading her blog and her book is good as well.

Shopping! That's what the last half of the week was about. Flower shopping and then JUNK shopping. We had a blast.

Can't believe how fast time is going by! ~Rhonda

PTI Blog Hop - A Touch of Gold

I thought I would have to pass on this months blog hop but couldn't stand it! I had to jump in. My cards are really simple this time. I created a wedding card and then I couldn't quit using the gold embossing powder. I made a set of quick thank you notes as well.

I think the gold wrapping paper liner for the envelopes is what makes the set. The wrapping paper has a new purpose since I always seem to use gift bags for most of my gifts.

Happy Hopping friends! ~Rhonda

Enjoy Life

Are YOU? Enjoying Life? I get pretty caught up in doing lots of stuff. Making cards and then not sending them out for someone else to enjoy or receive an encouraging word. Working in my garden and not cutting flowers to enjoy inside. So this week I promised myself I would

  1. send a card or two
  2. sit on the porch with a glass a wine to admire the hard work we have put into the garden.
What are you doing to enjoy life? I would love to know. ~Rhonda

Promotion

Bob and I are headed to Kingsville, Tx for a Change of Command Ceremony at the Naval Air Station. My cousin by marriage will be the new Commander. We are so excited to celebrate with family and friends on this big promotion.

I couldn't let this event go by without a red, white, & blue card!! I used the Viva la Verve June Week One sketch as a starting point. The pennant die combined with the fishtail flag dies are a match made in heaven. Love them together.

Have a fabulous weekend! ~Rhonda

Do you love glossy accents? Did you know that the stuff does get old? I bought a new bottle and what a difference! My card inspiration is based on the CAS(E) this sketch challenge

PTI's Watercolor Wonder was perfect to add just a touch of color over the sentiment. I think it was just what was needed to tie the house color in. LOVE the glossy red heart!

I remember the excitement of a new home! Putting our gifts in our own cabinets. Sweet memories. ~Rhonda

Project Life - Week 20

 Both sides of week 20

This week we celebrated Ryker's19th birthday. You can't keep picturing yourself at 29 or even 39 when your baby is 19. At what age would you like to freeze time?

Left side of week 20

The Aledo High School Prom was this week as well. Several of the girls in the Youth Group invited me to be a part of the pre-festivities. They were having so much fun and looked gorgeous. I LOVE these kids! One more milestone. The guys are all graduating and headed to college.

Strong is the ONLY Choice

I playing along with the 10 Minute Craft Dash #19. I like these colors a lot. I originally had thought I would stamp my sentiment on yellow paper but didn't like that a bit so I was scrambling around. The time was close. Watching the time tick gets my adrenaline going!

Have a great weekend everyone! ~Rhonda

Project Life - Week 19

The highlight of this week is celebrating Mother's Day. My parents came for the weekend and my boys were home. It doesn't get much better than that.

But my favorite picture is the one of the guys lined up at the dining room table. My youngest son, Ryker, is in the middle flanked by longtime friends. I have another picture similar to this one that I need to find when they were much younger. The time has gone so fast.

Congrats Grad - MIM #120

I'm just getting around to making the graduation cards that I need today! The latest Papertrey Ink MIM #120 - Overlapping Ombre inspired my creation. I used the Watercolor Wonder to create my ombre using Summer Sunrise, Orange Zest, Terracotta Tile, and Canyon Clay.

The local school colors are orange and black. I used the new Star Spangled Impression plate to add some texture. I think you can see it best in the picture up top.

A border created with the Super Star border die ran through my Xyron machine. Do you have a Xyron? I purchased it after a suggestion from Dawn McVey for another MIM. I'm so glad I got it. My hat is popped up!

Have a great week! ~Rhonda

I couldn't resist playing along with the latest Muse Challenge. I loved the colors and graphic feel of the center elements on Laurie Willison's card. Her background paper for the picture had a big influence on my color selection as well. :) I decided to try and line up my own.

Enjoy your weekend everyone! ~Rhonda

I used a new Verve set Let it Be for this card. I started playing around with the flower and paper scraps that were on my desk. I like it when ALL my scraps come together. ~Rhonda

Teacher - Thank you!

Tomorrow is the last day of school for kids around here. I know everyone is looking forward to summer but I will miss the "Lil Miss" that I mentor. I won't see her over the summer, though we have practiced mailing letters to each other so I hope you can stay connected that way. I made this card for her teacher. Mrs. Ford has been a blessing to Lil Miss and myself.

Lil Miss has come a long way this year. We have been acing our spelling tests! and reading!!! WE ARE READING! We are moving to 2nd grade!

Have a great day! I'm going to the School Awards Program. ~Rhonda

Take One - MIM #119

Okay, I am having too much fun with this challenge - Papertrey Ink MIM #119 Flag Banners.  Do you remember the flyers that had a pull off "tag" at the bottom that you used to see in your dorm or laundry room or local stores? That was my inspiration for this card.

I had fun selecting different sentiments that would work on the various size flags. I love the Headline Alpha dies - clean and modern.

One last shot so you can see the tags from a different angle.

I can't wait to put this one in the mail. ~Rhonda

I playing along with Papertrey Ink's MIM #119 - Flagged Borders. I decided my cloud needed some flags! I am loving Pedal Pushers. Who knew that stamping bikes would be so much fun? I embossed the bike (except the seat and handle grips). I continue to be amazed at what a difference embossing makes.
