Trust in the Lord

I had never had a lot of luck using the Rustic Wreath stamp set and die. I just could not get it to line up. I decided to give my MISTI a workout and see if it was up to the challenge.

I stamped the wreath on the card front first so the berries were in place. I then starting stamping the die cut. I really like the blue card that has the berries in spring rain and the rest of the wreath in the neutrals.

For the "blue" cards I stamped the wreath with Spring Rain first. I then did 2 different color schemes. Spring Rain, followed by Blueberry Sky and then Enchanted Evening randomly inked. The second one was Spring Rain first and then Fine Linen and Kraft. I had a blast using lots of ink colors.

The "green" cards were stamped with Spring Moss. I then followed that up with Ripe Avocado. I used the herringbone impression plate after I stamped the initial wreath on the white card stock. ~Rhonda

Jeremiah 29:11

It must be getting close to the end of the month since I am posting so many Viva la Verve cards!! Christyne created the sketch for week 3. I stuck pretty close to the original sketch.

I love the fonts used for this Bible verse. So pretty.

I thought the bottom right corner needed some weight to give balance and I needed this to be mailable. I finally decided to use an artistic splat from Watercolor Wonder. I think this set will be very handy for such moments.

I used the heart border die from PTI to create the small scallops.

I couldn't resist taking a photo of my "worksheet." It saves so much time when I write down everything I used for a later blog post. Do you have a routine/checklist for this purpose? Thanks for stopping by! ~ Rhonda

Happy Easter Everyone! I hope you are getting to spend time with your family and friends. We made a quick trip to Oklahoma to visit my parents. We will have our un-traditional meal of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and of course deviled eggs.

This wonderful sentiment from Verve says it all. I hope you have a blessed day. ~Rhonda

Count the Stars

Viva la Verve! March Week 2 Sketch. I was fortunate enough to win several stamp sets from Verve during the last release including the one I'm using today. Thanks Julee! This sketch was fun. I even did a little thinking outside the box for me by accident.

I really wanted to focus on "counting or numbers" to play up the sentiment. The number impression plate was perfect for the background but what was I going to use for the long design element?

Paper with numbers seemed the obvious choice. Started digging in the paper. I didn't have enough of my black/white number paper and my other paper choice was orange with numbers. Didn't think that worked very well for stars at night. I started playing around with the stars and then DUH! use them for the long design element. I think it worked really well. I LOVE happy accidents.

Don't you love all the different size stars in this die? A little tip: The largest star is comparable to PTI's Seeing Stars smallest die so if you add this die to your collection you can go from big to tiny! ~Rhonda

products used:
Stamps: Verve - Shining Star
paper: Authentique - Free Bird; Basic Grey - Life of the Party; PTI - Stampers Select White
ink: Memento - Tuxedo Black
dies: Verve - Starry; MFT - Fishtail Flags Stax
other: PTI - By the Numbers impression plate; twine - not sure who

Do not fear . . .

Two different cards using the same Bible verse. I love that you can use different paper and small changes to create a new look.

The purple creates a softer feeling. Next time I think I will change the card base color. I think it might need a little more contrast.

My favorite is the frame created with the Hexagon Cover plate and the Bible verse inside. I like the modern feeling.

Have a great day! ~Rhonda

paper: PTI Kraft, Simply Chartreuse, Plum Pudding, Royal Velvet, Stampers Select White, Simply Chartreuse pattern pack; Cosmo Cricket - pixie-licious paper pad; Crate Paper - Portrait collection paper pack

We will serve the Lord

Have you noticed that BIG bows are all the rage??? Since I have short hair and no little girls, this trend has not applied to me but a big bow on a card I can do!! and a big bow needs some additional bling. This Verve Joshua verse is perfect for a little house embellishment.

But I didn't stop with one house as I pulled the shrink plastic out and used the PTI Handmade with Love dies to create additional charms. I used my Copic markers to "paint" them.

If you try your hand at some charms, let me know so I can see! ~Rhonda

supplies:
stamps: Verve - Plain Jane Joshua 24:15

Rejoice!

Happy April Fool's Day Everyone!!!! Any pranks at your house?

What makes you think of SPRING??? Butterflies, flowers, bunnies? This month the Verve Team has dared us to make a card, project, layout, or whatever fits our stamping style using this month's theme - Color Me Spring!

Easter is one of the hallmark's of spring for me. This year it falls on the latest possible date: April 25. Only once in the past 100 years—in 1886—has it been so late. It will not happen again in this century.

I just received my Everlasting Life set from Verve with this wonderful sentiment. I love the impression plate with the royal velvet paper.

I also made this ATC for my growing collection. This is were I start when I'm having mojo trouble. The slighter smaller size seems to be an easier place to start on some days.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I'm packing for my upcoming cruise!!!  ~Rhonda

paper: Cosmo Cricket - Pixie-licioius; PTI - Royal Velvet, Vintage Cream

I LOVE the Verve Plain Janes. I appreciate the sentiments and the price point.

Adding the large giga guideline stamp in versamark really set the sentiment up to shine.

Delight yourself in the Lord

This is the final Verve sketch for January. Of course I had to flip it! The sentiment is a Plain Jane. I needed to fill the empty space below the sentiment and the heart swirl from Sweet Treats fit perfectly and well as fitting the heart theme.

The papers are more of the Cosmo Cricket Mini Deck: Togetherness. The paper beneath the dots is actually Stampin Up's Going Gray. It looks a little blue in the photo.

I also made another ATC Bible Verse card for my growing collection. I colored some PTI twine with my gray Copic markers to get the needed match.

Can you believe it is already Wednesday again? and January is almost GONE!!! ~Rhonda

1 Peter 5:7

Hi All! I'm back with a second post today and you will probably notice that it's the same stamp set. Verve - Text Objects. I'm gonna get my $'s worth!! I'm playing along with Unscripted Sketches #88.

The paper is from the Cosmo Cricket Togetherness mini deck. Do you ever use up a whole deck??? Maybe a new goal cause I know they will be coming out with new stuff soon.

I am planning to make several ATC cards with Bible verses on them. My own little Bible Memory Book.

Do you have plans for the weekend? We have a birthday party for a sweet friend tonight. ~Rhonda
