Hugs . . . because you can never have too many

Nothing better than a HUG! A friend requested a set of hugs so I was happy to oblige. She wanted clean and simple.

I used Enchanted Evening ink at full strength and stamped off for this one. Don't you love the stitched speech bubble dies from MFT?

Watercolor Wonder in Spring Rain ink created a landing spot for the sentiment.

I used the Simple Stripes Impression plate on my circle to add some texture. I had forgotten that I had it. I going to leave that one out of my desk for a bit.

I love this stamp set and die! Have a wonderful week. ~Rhonda

Wednesday Wishes - Make a Wish

I went a little crazy with Brushed Blooms. Once I started I wanted to play with lots of different color combos. First up is the birthday card. I used blues and coral.

I also used this set for my Mother's Day card. Pinks and yellow created a very bright, happy card. I hope my Mom loves it.

The last one is a hi! card. I love the chevron stamp from Noted. The perfect image to ground my flowers.

I hope you are celebrating someone this week. ~Rhonda

A Bright Future

I loving having stamp sets that let me celebrate life as it happens. My oldest son started a new job and is moving to Houston, TX. As soon as I get the new address, this one is going in the mail. I used Fresh Alphabet to spell his name on the marque.

My color inspiration came from the March 2015 release color recipes. Melon Berry, Aqua Mist, and Enchanted Evening. If you are interested in how I created a stamping template using the MISTI for this set you can reference this post. ~Rhonda

PTI April 2015 Blog Hop - Plant a Seed

It's planting season at my house. We received over 2" of rain yesterday so everything is so pretty today. Plants literally grew overnight. So it seems only fitting that PTI would grow at my house as well.

Did you order the pint size containers? They are sooooo cute. The challenge for this month's PTI blog hop is Navy paired with shades of pink! You can see the inspiration photo and see what everyone else made here.

I followed the lead of several of the PTI design team and painted my pencils with acrylic paint. It was easy and dried quickly so I could keep working.

Erin Lincoln also answered my SOS on the forum for adhering the paper wrap to the pint container. It works so WELL!

She said, "I have a nifty way to do that! I put double sided tape along the two side edges. Nothing on the top/bottom edges at all. And I leave a bit of an overhang of adhesive off the bottom of the die cut. Without removing the tape backing, I put the die cut in place against the container. Because no adhesive is exposed, you can move it around a bit to get perfect placement. When you have it where you want it and holding your die cut against the container to keep it in place, you peel the backing paper off your double sided tape at the overhang and pull it down and off. (Reminds me a bit of when magicians pull a tablecloth out from underneath dishes and the dishes stay on the table.) Do it to the other side. And then trim the overhang."

Happy Hopping everyone! Enjoy your weekend. ~Rhonda

Wednesday Wishes

I had fun creating these happy birthday sets. They feel like spring! I had not used Wishes Come True very much but was determined to figure it out. The candles make sense when they are grounded with the oval from Sweet Spring or a sentiment. The font selection in this set is really nice.

I like making a case card but have found that impression plates are really important for me. I think they are the finishing touch.

I wish you could see my "happy" a little better. I stamped it in Harvest Gold first and decided it was too light so I re-stamped in Raspberry Fizz. It is a little offset with gives it a yellow glow. I like happy mistakes.

Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by. ~Rhonda

Wednesday Wishes

Another birthday card to share. I am loving the Retro Style sets. The new You're Been Framed: Oval has the perfect stamp for grounding the sign. Happy Happy!!! My sign legs are from No Strings Attached.

I used my MISTI to help speed up the stamping process. It did take some time to figure it out but now I have a template for anytime that I use this set. I just keep it in the back of my clear stamp pockets with the stamp set.

The trick is leaving room around the stamps so you can use different colors of ink easily. I will probably add the arrow dies to the template as well.

Have a great week! Hope you didn't get fooled today!! ~Rhonda

Sending Hugs - background basics: medalllions

Practice makes perfect - and I NEED a lot more practice on backgrounds!! An additional benefit of using the MISTI is that I can use the very light ink colors and stamp then more than once to get great colors.

Do you need a hug today??? I hope you have someone close to give you one or accept this virtual one. I appreciate each of you that take the time to stop by. ~Rhonda

Trust in the Lord

I had never had a lot of luck using the Rustic Wreath stamp set and die. I just could not get it to line up. I decided to give my MISTI a workout and see if it was up to the challenge.

I stamped the wreath on the card front first so the berries were in place. I then starting stamping the die cut. I really like the blue card that has the berries in spring rain and the rest of the wreath in the neutrals.

For the "blue" cards I stamped the wreath with Spring Rain first. I then did 2 different color schemes. Spring Rain, followed by Blueberry Sky and then Enchanted Evening randomly inked. The second one was Spring Rain first and then Fine Linen and Kraft. I had a blast using lots of ink colors.

The "green" cards were stamped with Spring Moss. I then followed that up with Ripe Avocado. I used the herringbone impression plate after I stamped the initial wreath on the white card stock. ~Rhonda

Wednesday Wishes #10

I'm excited with how these cards turned out! More than one color on the stamp adds so much more dimension. I really love the spring moss and ripe avocado inks together.

I think you can see what a difference the impression plate makes as well. I also used the new linen cardstock from PTI. That is a little harder to see.
I love that I'm making several cards at a time.It has taken a little practice to get the work flow figured out.

I hope you are adjusting to daylight savings time. I'm just ready to see some sunshine. ~Rhonda

MIM #203 Doodling with stamps & Wednesday Wishes #9

Love the happy colors on this card. I also stepped out of my creative box by adding my own squiggles and such. I was inspired by Ashley Newell's card here. Her technique is the challenge for this week's MIM #204 Doodling with Stamps. I totally get what Ashley said about it be scary cuz she might have to start over. This was one card that I didn't want to do again. It was tough lining up all these petals!

Hope you are having a super week. ~Rhonda

PTI - February Blog Hop Wednesday Wishes #8

It's already the end of February which means its time for PTI's blog hop. The inspiration this month is a beauty. I loved the repetition of the pattern, bright colors, and white space. I also used a birthday sentiment so I can continue my Wednesday Wishes challenge for myself.

My take is a clean and simple design made easier by using my MISTI tool. I love that I could create a clean grid and re-stamp as much as I needed to get the bright colors. A spritz of Mister Huey's Shine color mist was the finishing touch.

Have fun hopping today! ~Rhonda

Forever Friends

Once you get the embossing paste out you might as well keep the mess going! I used the cloud dies to make a stencil. Such fun texture.

I used my Xyron machine with the true black cardstock so the "forever" would be easy to place. The black embossing really stands out against the distress inks. Have a great one!~Rhonda

MIM #201 - Cover Plate Stencils and embossing paste

Playing along with this week's PTI - Make it Monday #201! Getting messy with embossing paste. I decided to add a couple of drops of Tropical Teal ink to my paste for a bright background. I like the imperfections in color. I even like the charm of the bleeds under the stencil at the bottom. (you gotta like it or start over!)I used several of the small stamps in the set to add pops of red and teal to the circles.

What do you think about the cover plate stencil I made?? I found clear template plastic in the quilting section at Jo-Ann's that worked perfectly. I had to use the metal shim to get a good cut. I can know get it messy and it washes right off.
Enjoy the weekend!! ~Rhonda

Smile

I hope you have something to SMILE about!! I am still playing with my MISTI. Using lots of sentiments on a card front is so much easier. I was able to stamp the sentiments in winter wisteria at the same time, then the 3 sentiments in limeade ice.

I then "thought" I was through so used the Herringbone Impression Plate. I decided I had too much white space so I added the sentiment in Royal Velvet. I had to stamp it a couple of times to get a full image. I would have messed it up for sure without the tool.

I love that I'm adding several cards at a time to my stash. It takes me sooo long to design one.

All the bright purple is making me SMILE! Enjoy your day. ~Rhonda

Wednesday Wishes #7

Have you fallen under the spell of the new MISTI tool? Mine arrived earlier in the week. There is definitely a learning curve but it is well worth it. I used it to create this week's card. I decided to try some layered flowers which I've not had too great of success with in the past.

I love that I can use re-ink stamps and use my light color inks so easily. I even "dressed up" an envelope using PTI's Framed stamp set. My rectangle stayed in shape without warp.

I think whenever I'm using the MISTI that I will at least make a couple of cards. I changed out the sentiment this time. ~Rhonda

Happy Valentine's Day Friends!

I hope you have a wonderful day! I needed some goodies bags for a team building meeting that happens this weekend. Chocolate is always appropriate and of course a CUTE water bottle wrap.

I found some chalkboard paper in the Target $ spot that were perfect for this purpose. I doodled hearts and arrows.

Can you see the heart confetti that I bagged from all the heart die cuts? Each bag has a water bottle, chocolate, and mints. ~Rhonda

Hugs & Kisses

Do you have all your Valentine projects completed? I finished the last of mine today.

I enjoyed making this sweet card. I was so excited when I found the Hugs & Kisses sentiment. Perfect paired with the kiss from scenti-mentals. Have a great day! ~Rhonda
