Thankful for You! -

Hi!
I playing along with Unscripted Sketches and Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenges. I am really enjoying using fall color/themes. I have personally challenged myself to use my stamp images several times so I can justify the cost! (wink) so if the Magnolia - Sitting Fall Tilda stamp looks familiar, she is! Plus I keep telling myself it I color her enough I just might figure out shading/blending with Copic Markers.
The sentiment and leaves are from PTI's Fall Elegance set stamped with SU Not Quite Navy. The paper is SU Really Rust, Not Quite Navy, and Naturals Ivory. The stripe is from My Mind's Eye.
Extras: Nestibilities - Rectangles, grommets, twine, and SU texture plate

SPCC #20 Happy Fall

Hi Everyone!
I'm playing along with SPCC's color combo challenge. I didn't have any Always Artichoke so I chose SU's Mellow Moss.

I purchased my 1st Magnolia "Tilda" stamps. They are stretching my coloring skills! I am thankful there are lots of Copic Marker tutorials online. I used the SU backgrounds One texture plate with the Curry cardstock. I thought it matched the detail of Tilda's scarf.

I used the Spellbinder's Label One on an angle to change it up a little.
It is a beautiful fall day here in Texas! Thanks for looking.

Babies are Heaven Sent!

I love being able to combine challenges. This time it happened by chance. I loved Kazen's sketch #37 at 2 Sketches 4 You, so I thought I would play along then I found the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge #8 that wanted a baby card.
My focal point is made with the Classic Scallopped Circle Lg #2 and #3. The border was done with my Just Rite Preserves Set using the 2 3/8" wood stamper.  I used PTI Bitty Baby stamp set to paper piece the rabbit and added a cute stripe for his ear and tail.
The paper is PTI Kraft, Enchanted Evening, and Aqua Mist. The stripe is from an unknown paperpack.I think the Enchanted Evening ink color looks fabulous on the Aqua Mist.

SFYTT Sketch/Country Living Color Inspiration

I received my November Country Living magazine yesterday. It certainly isn't following traditional holiday colors. This trend is being used in card making as well. I decided to use the cover as my color inspiration. Blues/Teals. Yellow. Brown.

I used  Jen del Muro's SFYTT sketch for the layout.

The stamp image is a retired SU - Winter Play as well as PTI Polka Dot Basics II and Fresh Alphabet to spell out snow. I used PTI Aqua Mist, Lemon Tart and SU Choc Chip cardstock. I used my Copic marker (BG11, BG13, BG18) to color my nestie scallop and the snowman's accessories. Buttons from my Grandmother's button tin, glitter pen on the scarf, and snowflake die from Spellbinders finished the look.

Groughy Lady

Today's card uses MTSC 43 sketch and Just Us Girls technique challenge of paper piecing and the color pink!

I'm using the stamp "Groughy Lady" as the focal point. I have had this stamp for awhile but wasn't sure how to use her so paper piecing was a lightbulb moment. I paper pieced her bathrobe and pocket. I used a pop dot under the elbow and robe bottom to give some extra dimension.

Sentiments and where to put them continue to be challenging. I finally chose Need a Couch Day? from PTI 's On My Couch set. Am I making this too hard?

The paper is from a paper pack I purchased at Michaels.

Snowflake Wonder

I had a little time to kill as I was waiting on my son's Algebra II class to end, so shopping at Hobby Lobby seemed the thing to do. I found the cute red snowflake paper from The Paper Studio on clearance as well as some other Christmas papers. I also picked up the Spellbinders Snowflake Wonder dies at 40% off. Mojo Monday Week #108 had the perfect sketch for trying my new goodies.

The snowman is from the retired SU Tags and More set stamped on a rectangle nestie. I colored the scarf and hat with my Copic markers. Outlining the snowman with C-1 Cool Gray helps him stand out. The sentiment is from PTI On My Couch set.

I used one of the five snowflake dies for my embellishment. Clear embossing powder as well as a PTI Enchanted Evening button finished the flake nicely.

I used the SU texture plate background 1 to put large dots on my PTI Enchanted Evening cardstock layer.

I see lots of snowflakes in my future! I can't wait to make gift tags!

MTSC42 Challenge

I'm so excited my Copic marker order arrived!! If the postman only knew that I was stalking my mailbox waiting for them to arrive! I now have some browns, blues, and greens. My order came in 2 days.  Now if my other package would show up I'd be set.

By following links, I came across Mercy's Sketch Challenge. I loved her blog and sketch so I thought I would play along. I chose a retired Stampin Up image Friendships Grow so I could "color" with my Copics. Alot of my stamp images are solid so I'm looking to add stamps that allow me to color.

I sewed around the edges and decided I like the uneven stitching of the bottom thread. My machine needs adjusting so I get this weird stitch. I used PTI Everyday Button Bits for the sentiment and PTI Scarlet Jewel buttons.

The paper is SU Old Olive and Whisper White. I don't have the name for the great stripe. I would love to tell you which Copic Markers I used, but by the time I used one color and didn't like it, I would go over it with something else creating my own hue!

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. I feel like I'm living in the NW with all the cloudy, rainy days we are having. Tomorrow I'm hoping that regular Texas weather returns.

PTI Challenge #3 India

Happy October Everyone!!
When I think about India, I see the bright, beautiful saras that the women wear. I even have one of my own that I wore at my brother's wedding two years ago. For the PTI Challenge #3 I used bright pink.

I worked on this card for awhile. I thought I liked the card in the "landscape" format and still wasn't happy so . . .

I turned it around and over and upside down. Does that ever happen to you???  I decided it flowed better in the "protrait" format.

The texture plate reminds my of India! Swirls and order at the same time.

Then I couldn't leave well enough alone! I didn't like the large flower stamp. So I choose a Bible verse that compliments the bright colors so well! I think I'm finally HAPPY!!

Supplies Used:
Paper:  SU Pink Passion, Whisper White, green from stash
Ink: SU Pink Passion
Stamps: Fiskars -Thank You, Stampology -Flowers, Bible verse - Hobby Lobby
Extras: SU texture plate Background 1, rhinestones -Michaels, ribbon - Michaels, 1" punch

Three in One

Happy Monday Everyone!
While visiting Mona's blog I learned about the Pile It On! Challenge. What great fun and super information on all the challenges that are available. I am combining 3 challenges in one card. I actually found it easier to do several challenges in one versus individual cards! #1:  I used Mojo Monday sketch #107 #2: SPCC #18 Color Combos and #3 Pile In On Challenge Three Dimensionals. The process took awhile but I'm happy with the results! Thanks for looking.

One of the details I really like is that the paper with Happy Fall has diamonds that match the texture plate I used for the background.

Supplies Used:
Paper: SU Dusty Durango, Not Quite Navy, Soft Suede, My Mind's Eye - Dots, paper pack - blue diamond
Ink: SU Not Quite Navy and Soft Suede
Stamps: SU Fantastic Foliage (ret), PTI 2009 Autumn Tags for sentiment
Extras: SU texture plate background 1, brads from stash, twine from PTI, ribbon from Michaels, pop dots

PTI Challenge #2 Mexico

I'm participating in the PTI Challenge for world card day. This challenge asks us to use Mexico as our inspiration. Whenever I think about Mexico I instantly conjure bright colors, white beaches, and beautiful water. I created a “simple” card just because! I am really enjoying the challenges. I wish we could all win the stamp
set! Thanks for looking.

I hope you enjoy your day. We are having another rainy one in Texas.  --Rhonda
