For God so LOVED . . .

Happy Easter Everyone! I hope you are getting to spend time with your family and friends. We made a quick trip to Oklahoma to visit my parents. We will have our un-traditional meal of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and of course deviled eggs.

This wonderful sentiment from Verve says it all. I hope you have a blessed day. ~Rhonda

Project Life - Week Six

I have to be honest! Promising myself that I would do a Project Life every Wednesday is the ONLY thing that is keeping me on track. I can tell that in the new future my week may only be a page because there just isn't that much that I am taking pictures of. I need to borrow some small children!

I have started Beth Moore's Daniel Bible study with a group of friends that I am quite excited about. We are meeting once a week. The perfect reason to clean the house.

I created lots of cards this week during the Papertrey Ink Birthday Celebration.

Beautiful (just the way you are)

Viva la Verve! I used a great sketch from Anya Schrier to create this card. I rotated the sketch to a horizontal layout. Do you ever play along with this challenge? You use their sketch a week for the month to create your beauties to have the chance to win $100 Verve gift certificate. Awesome prize!

I absolutely LOVE the font used for this Plain Jane stamp! I would love to have others that use this font! Just hinting Julee. Do you like the graphic paper behind the script sentiment?  I also used that paper for another card yesterday. Totally different feel.

Isn't this little butterfly sweet? I die cut one from white card stock then two more from vellum. I then folded the vellum ones in half and adhered one on each side of the card stock with vellum adhesive so that the swirl covers the card stock. The cotton perle floss wrapped around the middle a couple times really finished it off.

Have a great day! It is freezing cold here. Wish I could just stay home and play. ~Rhonda

Narry a stamp in sight

Have you ever started a challenge and then got carried away? mmmm.... I think that might have happened. Cas-ual Fridays challenge this week is NO stamps! Not one! and quite honestly I didn't think I could play along but ..... I found this really cute package of rub-ons in my stash and the rest is history. I wish I had taken a picture of the package because there is nothing left in it. I used every piece.

I started with the "Joy" and this cute paper. I even used a rub-on from the set for the sentiment inside "delight in simple things."

I love the font. Wish I knew what it was.

My second card is probably my favorite. The smile card makes me happy. Going through my paper pads I landed on this graphic circle paper. Perfect!

On a roll and can't stop now! Great paper with a bird so I added a banner and sentiment.

I actually die cut several banners from chipboard and then the patterned paper on top for more dimension. I love twine.

The last one was more of a challenge but I was determined to use those corners. The sentiment is a Wordsworth sticker. I used a herringbone impression plate on the card base to get some dimension.

I hope one of these struck your fancy! and truly I do thank you from the bottom of my heart for stopping by. ~Rhonda

Project Life - Week Five

Week Five complete. My oldest is moving forward on his dream to be a Policeman. He completed ALL the paperwork to intern with a Police Department.

Both sides of Week Five

I'm making my brain work hard by participating in a memory work project. Have you heard of Ann Voskamp, the writer of One Thousand Gifts? Each year she works on memorizing new scripture. 2 verses a week. This year from Romans 1, 8, & 12.

. . . a lovely day

Sometimes I am amazed at HOW LONG it takes to make a card. I finally had to step away and return the next day. :)

Count the Stars

Viva la Verve! March Week 2 Sketch. I was fortunate enough to win several stamp sets from Verve during the last release including the one I'm using today. Thanks Julee! This sketch was fun. I even did a little thinking outside the box for me by accident.

I really wanted to focus on "counting or numbers" to play up the sentiment. The number impression plate was perfect for the background but what was I going to use for the long design element?

Paper with numbers seemed the obvious choice. Started digging in the paper. I didn't have enough of my black/white number paper and my other paper choice was orange with numbers. Didn't think that worked very well for stars at night. I started playing around with the stars and then DUH! use them for the long design element. I think it worked really well. I LOVE happy accidents.

Don't you love all the different size stars in this die? A little tip: The largest star is comparable to PTI's Seeing Stars smallest die so if you add this die to your collection you can go from big to tiny! ~Rhonda

Project Life - Week Four

Week Four complete. Never let your husband go car shopping by himself. He might bring something home (to try).

It was time for hair color again. My stylist says that there isn't any pepper left in my hair. Guess that's the badge of honor for raising teenage boys. :)

Later in the week I spend some great time with a friend, having lunch and doing a little shopping. I found this adorable Valentine bracelet.

Birthday - MIM #107 Clear Card Base

Playing along with Papertrey Ink's MIM #107 Clear Card Base. Thankfully someone asked Nicole if we had to use Copic Markers and the reply was just a clear card base so I'm playing today.

I am loving the Stylish Sentiments: Birthday a lot! My card front is a few layers on Doily Detail die.

The inside is wild paper with another sentiment. I used Tombow Vellum adhesive for this paper so I didn't have to mat it.

Hope you get a chance to play. Gotta go! The freezer repairman will be knocking on the door any second. ~Rhonda

Wedding Subway Art

I had the opportunity to create another Wedding Subway Canvas for a client. These are so much fun to create.

There are my go-to wedding gift as well. The bride is always excited to see the progression of the relationship and I figure it doesn't hurt to have all the dates documented for the groom. :) The canvas is 16 x 20.

I learned how to create these in a Jessica Sprague class. She now offers a mini class on this technique. I have paid for this class many times over.  Have a great week! ~Rhonda

Question for you - What is your go-to gift for weddings?

friends 'til the end

I'm playing along with the Mojo Monday #283 sketch designed by Carol Burrage. I added a couple of elements. My card just needed the flags to be complete. Chervons are also being highlighted at Moxie Fab World. Just happen to have some of these on this card.

My first thought for the background of this card was PTI's Sweet Blush but it seemed flat so I added the herringbone impression plate but it still wasn't right. I started laying the elements on different pattern papers. This happy yellow was the winner. Need to remember to do this more often.

I had a lot of the card elements left over and started to put them away but decided to create a little ATC instead. I think it would be fun to put in a small glassine bag. Perfect for a plate of cookies to a friend.

Since I was determined to use all the extra pieces I put my last extra loopy flower die on the inside of the card.

Time to get off the computer! Bad weather is headed our way. ~Rhonda

Happy Couple

It's time to start gearing up for Wedding Shower season. The happy couple is registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond which offers free wrapping. A purple and white bag with pretty satin ribbon. I decided to make a tag that matched.

I used Jen's Deconstructed Sketch #92 for my tag inspiration. This is my first time to play at this challenge.

It is always hard to get pictures of tags for the obvious reason that they are flat. But then I decided to just cut another tag with folded white paper to create a tag/card. Takes care of two purposes. Easy picture and since I couldn't get a card to come together I could just write my note on the inside!

The seam binding is from the new Verve Spring Fling assortment. A perfect complement to the bag don't ya think?

We are gearing up for spring break around here. I have bought groceries to feed my ever starving college sons who are coming home! I can't wait to see them. Anyone else start their spring break next week? ~Rhonda

Project Life - Week Three

This was a fun week. I had a photo shoot happening. My Interior Designer was taking photos of our remodel for his design portfolio. It was so cool.

Both sides of Week 3 layout

I think the hardest thing of this project that I set up is the Week in Review. Not sure I will keep that up each week. I think it may be overkill.

Another highlight of this week was working on The Summit House (youth house). We have outgrown the space which is a great problem to have.

Tuesday Trigger

I am playing along with the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger. I loved the inspiration photo. The colors and the grid pattern kept playing in my head.

First up is this aqua number.

If you could see how many little color combinations that I tried and threw out you would LAUGH!!  I finally had to tell myself enough already - focusing on one color is OK!! Though I believe I may be an expert on die cutting this particular set! Wink!!

I cut off 1/2" on the front panel so you can see the grid that I stamped in Going Grey from SU. I even stamped the grid on the envelope front and an envelope liner. Just write over the grid with a black marker and you are set to go.

I also had stamped everything in a purple scheme. I thought I would be able to mix the two together but didn't like it so one color it stayed. This was also a time when I wanted a less than perfect grid image.

Hope you have plans for a wonderful week! We are supposed to get to 84° today then back to the 50's. Going to enjoy it while I can. ~Rhonda

Question for you - Does anyone have a blue ink that matches the picture? I found that I am lacking one. Suggestions?
