Thankful Thursday #17

Thankful Thursdays are my opportunity to "Up My Gratitude." The goal is to make at least one card a week to thank someone. I LOVE when you play along by linking up below.

This week I used some new paper - Studio Calico Take Note Collection

The Washi Tape is from Target. I normally would never "mix" my greens as I did but pushing myself out of my comfort zone worked this time.

Love the glitter look of the Spring Rain button. Maybe you have one like it in your button bag as well.

Enjoy the week friends! ~Rhonda

Hello There - PTI Blog Hop

It is already the 25th of the month again!! Must be time for the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. For the month of April the focus is on fun florals, damasks & polka dots.  Throw in the fun color scheme, and you have a recipe for the perfect project.  Use the inspiration piece as a jumping point for your color scheme, pattern combinations, overall design or whatever else inspires your creativity.

I chose to focus on the pretty pinks and flowers. I pulled out an old favorite - Beautiful Blooms II. The sentiment is from the newly released Framed Out #3.

I hope you have fun hopping!! I will actually have to hop when I get home. I'm currently hopping shopping in Austin, TX.

Take Care Friends! ~Rhonda

Girl Talk

I inked up this sweet set - Heart 2 Heart #1. Did you notice the rising steam from the cup? It is from the Candy Cane Collection.

I love the orange cozy stamp with its many swirls but I have LOST IT!! I have looked everywhere and so far no luck. I am hoping that it is stuck to another set and will show up soon.

Thanks for stopping by! ~Rhonda

I have a thing for trees. i JUST ordered the Trendy Tree Tops and then I have the Tree Tops set that had not seen ink until today. The matching die makes this set so easy to use.

Are you in LOVE with impression places??? The perfect textures.

I hope that you are making this a great week!! Make a thank you card this week and play along. ~Rhonda

MIM #62- Step It Up: Layering

Papertrey Ink's  Make It Monday #62 is all about the process! I love this week's video. We are to feature two cards in a step out style like Betsy's.

I chose to use the Mat Stack #4 stamp set as my focus. I got ALL the stamps out and starting playing to create some kind of background. I also made myself use the Fine Linen paper. I have never felt comfortable with this color but the Fine Linen ink is changing my mind! Can you see the impact that it makes on the top half of the 2nd card? I used the Grunge Me set to create the depth that Betsy referred to. Night and Day difference!!

The first card is very simple with a basic stamp border and a die cut raised with some foam for a little dimension.

The second card has a few more layers and details. I added a larger border and placed the images closer together for more impact. The top half is a great background created with the Grunge Me set in Fine Linen ink. The sentiment from Verve's Words of Wisdom is three layers deep. Can you see the 1 3/4" oval die for the sentiment?

The hearts on top are "leftovers" from the heart border die that I used to create the little scallops behind the polka dot paper. I dipped them in clear embossing powder for some SHINE!

Have a great week!!~Rhonda

supplies used:
stamps: PTI - Mat Stack #4; Verve - Words of Wisdom
paper: PTI Fine Linen, True Black; October Afternoon - Thrift Shop (polka dot)
ink: PTI Fine Linen; Memento - Tuxedo Black; Versamark
other: PTI Mat Stack #4 die, Layer Mat Stack #4, Heart border die, 1 3/4 oval dies, twine, and True Black button; clear embossing powder

Flea Market Fabulous #2

Want to see more of the Round Top treasures? My friend Robin and I left on Tuesday and returned late Thursday. The amount of goodies is mind boggling.

I promised the perfect craft storage idea yesterday. I have 2 different styles. Which one do you love? closed or open storage???

I wish I had a better picture of this pillow. Can you see the OLD door handle at the top? Burlap at its finest.

Burlap was EVERYWHERE! Need a new bag?

Remember me saying metal was abundant? what would you use these for?

Need a new bar stool?

or some decorative bottles??

I love cactus. Perfect for the center of a outdoor table.

Come back later this week! I'll show you what came to my house. ~Rhonda

Flea Market Fabulous #1

Last week I had the opportunity to go Round Top, Texas for the Marburger Farm Antique Show. (yes, we were on the road as tornadoes were in our hometowns. Lots of frantic phone calls were being made. ALL safe thankfully.)

Apparently these shows have been happening for the past 40 years. There are several pastures that are FULL of booths with every imaginable treasure you can think of. Someone said it is 10 miles of junk treasures. The Marburger Show had more high end goodies but the inspiration was incredible. They didn't want you taking pictures of their fabulous displays etc. but the eye candy was overwhelming. The pastures were a mix between junk sale and why didn't I think of that items.

Look at this gorgeous dress!!!

LOVE the spray painted candle sticks!! Think I would chose a different color candle. Don't you have candle sticks in a cabinet that you want to pull out and update???

Are you in need a some more buttons?? These were beautiful. Several rooms full of buttons, though some of them they were very proud of.

You could see the Restoration Hardware influence everywhere!!! This little piece would be great for a bar or ribbon, stamps, etc. I think you get the idea.

Lots of metals used on everything. Loved these tables.

Next up were so many cute ways to get around. Bicycle built for 2

or perhaps a roadster,

 and even a tractor.

Hope you saw something that inspired YOU!! I have the perfect craft storage idea to show on Monday. Thanks for stopping by! ~Rhonda

Thankful Thursday #15

Thankful Thursdays are my opportunity to "Up My Gratitude." The goal is to make at least one card a week to thank someone. I LOVE when you play along by linking up below.

Did you see Heather Nichol's post using store bought note cards and adding a little extra? I was in Target on Tuesday and saw the same cards. They jumped into my cart. :) I'm so glad they did because time is short this week and I needed another Thank You card obviously.

There are 24 cards in the set. I decided to do 4 different sentiments using PTI's Simple Sentiments set. These fit perfectly on the doubled ended banner die.

I chose to use Simply Chartreuse and Ocean Tide cardstock for my sentiment banners.

I think I will box up 2 of each for 8 cards total as little gifts. Always nice to have some gift-y items ready to go. Hope you are having a great week! ~Rhonda

Thankful Thursday #14

The paper for this card has been on my table for a couple of weeks. I had cut my scraps into flags but couldn't get the card to "come together." Finally I decided all those pencils could have written a thank you so that lead to all the sentiments being used on a mat stack die.

This particular card is going to Mrs. Wright, my mentee's teacher. She is working hard to get Miss Natalee on track.

If you make a thank you card this week be sure to link up. ~Rhonda

Birthday Wishes to YOU

I created a birthday card for the Monday with Melis challenge (Melissa Phillips on the PTI Design Team) that she posted. The elements were a heart, Birthday themed, scallops, background stamp, and buttons! I think I can check everything on the list. A great way to start a Monday. I'm glad I had time to play.

My heart from Verve was stamped with the Mendi Medallian set of PTI. I folded the Sweet Spring die to create a place for my sentiment.

Happy Monday everyone!! ~Rhonda
