Make It Monday #80. Making a garland with Ashley Cannon Newell. Loved this challenge. It's the 1st day of classes for the kids in our area and I will start mentoring my 1st grader again soon. Don't you love the smell of a freshly sharpened #2 pencil?

This month's inspiration is all about autumn patterns, textures & textiles. I took my inspiration from the blue, mustard, and burlap.  I started working with a shipping tag and then the ideas started flowing for a Thanksgiving tabletop. I hope you like what you see. I had a great time making everything.

I re-purposed the photo cube I made for Stamp-a-faire as a place card holder. There are 3 elements - a place card, journal card to jot what you are grateful for and a little turkey for cute! A felt leaf is tied to the bottom.

The napkin ring is burlap and jute wrapped around the napkin with the grateful tag tied on. I added a couple of felt die cut leaves to complete the ring. Did you notice the herringbone impression plate on the fabulous frame die cut? I also swiped a little acrylic paint on the shipping tag. I placed it in the tea glass for another look.

I made several cards using the new Counting my Blessings word dies. They are so fabulous. I love the pattern paper packs.

A couple of my favorite elements are the Doily Detail die cut with fabric and cheesecloth used under the Heart-2-Heart #7 die.

I am playing along with Papertrey Ink's MIM #79 again! I had put spray adhesive on a lot of fabric so I am having a great time cutting it with my dies. I decided to create a little gift bag and card that I can use for a friend or teacher when I need just a small something. I'm thinking chocolate bar!

Did you happen to pick up the washi tape from Target that everyone was talking about earlier in the summer? I DID! It is so easy to cover clothespins, bags, etc. 

I stamped the Think Big sentiment with Stazon ink.

I am working on my stash of little boy appropriate cards! A little map paper and an airplane means you can go wherever you want! I would like to cross the ocean. It felt great to pull out Fly Away. The matching die is wonderful. It would have been wonderful when I made ALL those birth annoucements.

 

The Adventures of Robin and Rhonda continue with a beautiful table scape. Biggest {HUGS} to Robin for always being up for another crazy time. Lunch and Lingerie was the bridal luncheon theme for a dear friend's daughter. We choose to mix a vintage 1930's feel with a dash of modern silver. 

The food table was covered in a lace tablecloth. Wooden boxes covered with lace gave needed height for a antique crystal candle holder and beautiful Crepe Myrtle blooms. Karla, the foodie friend co-hosted. Chicken salad, pasta salad, fruit, mini muffins, and chocolate truffles were on pedestals.

Can't be in Texas without tea. Gotta have the sweet too.

Miss Matilda came to her first ladies event. She was wearing her finest jewels. I'm green with envy of her hairstyle!

Each place setting started with a silver charge followed by a vintage plate collected on various outings. A white dessert plate held a burlap wrapped potted flower that were the gifts for each guest. Sterling silver tied with a lacy napkin finished the look.

Crepe Myrtle blooms cut from my backyard along with Purple Phlox and Zinnias made for wonderful floral elements placed on an aged mirror. 

The gifts were placed around these vintage suitcases outfitted with a silver brush and comb. Some lacy slips and strings of pearls complemented the simple wedding dress.
