Birthday Wishes

Don't forget to scroll down a couple of posts for some wrinkled ribbon blog candy.

You may remember my discovery of Big and Bold Wishes sentiments fitting between the lines of the library ledger paper here. I had some brown paper left over so I created another GUY friendly card. The hand drawn lines really draw your eye to the focal point. ~ Rhonda

Supplies used:
stamps: PTI mega mixed messages, big and bold wishes
paper: PTI library ledger, kraft,
ink: Memento rich cocoa, PTI ocean tides
other: PTI twine, 1/2 circle punch

thinking of you

Don't you just hate it when you have all these cards made and not one has the sentiment you need? How can that be? Are you running low on a category? I needed "thinking of you."

This simple card used the Boho Chic papers as the jumping off point. I cut out another flower from the paper as the base for my felt embellishment. You have to love the button with the hole in the middle. Perfect. ~ Rhonda

to a friend

Edited to announce the winners: #3 Cammie, #4 Peggysue, and #8 Lee Anne. Send my your address ladies and I'll get the goodies right out to you.

This is the card I used for the shoebox swap when I meet with the Texas girls earlier in the month! It was inspired by Lisa Johnson's card here. Flutterby Friend became a must have set for me and is now my favorite.

One of the things I wanted to learn was how to make the wrinkled ribbon that I was seeing everywhere! I ordered the seam binding but my LSS were out of the glimmer mist! Shannan Teubner brought the necessary supplies and let me play. The Crafty Scrapper also had the glimmer mist that I had to bring home. (Are you still with me? Keep reading, it will be worth it)

So  . . . my own glimmer mist colors and my favorite set brought this card into being. The ribbon is beautiful with the plum pudding paper.

I would love to share. I have 3 extra card kits of the shoebox swap card that has everything pre-cut, impressed background, buttons, floss, etc. and will include 2 yds of the wrinkled ribbon that I made for the second card to give away to 3 people who leave comments. The card kit would work with other stamps if you don't own one of the sets I used. I'll pick the winners on my return from vacation on July 31st. I'll post the winners and if you leave me your email address, I'll contact you.

Kazen's new sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You was calling my name. I rotated it and used my new fav stamp set Flutterby Friends to create a fun card.

Can you see what I used to create the middle piece? The NEW ticket die from Papertrey Ink! You gotta get one. I wanted something a little different and this was perfect.

The background for each circle is the library card stamp. This sketch obviously fit with my current circle obsession I am having.

Enjoy your week and stay cool! ~ Rhonda

Wish Big

I love making new discoveries! The brown striped library ledger paper is just the right size for the sentiments in Big and Bold Wishes. The result is a great background.

I also found that Wish Big fits inside the fillable frames die #4. A quick and simple birthday card that is perfect for a GUY! I must admit that it was all I could do to NOT use an impression plate or something else to dress up the top part of the card.

PTI Shoebox Swap

Sue, Steph, Josiane, Chris, Rhonda, Christine, Amy, Tioa, and Shannan.
Can you say BLAST!!  Nine forum friends met IRL! We met at the Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie, Tx from 1 till 5pm on Saturday. We were wondering what we would do in our spare time as each card would only take 10 minutes. WHAT SPARE TIME? I still need to finish one more! The energy level of this group is HIGH! The conversations were flying fast! The laughter was everywhere! Everyone had chosen projects that used different stamp sets. I think I found a few more sets that I need.

I hope you get the opportunity to meet up with forum friends sometime.  ~ Rhonda

Lonely without You

Just a quick post before heading out the door. I'm taking Ryker to Dallas for Aptitude Testing. We can't wait to see what they say!

This card fits 2 challenges. I'm playing along with the ATC Glimmer Challenge here which requires 6 different colors and a sketch.

The Papertrey Peeps challenge here is working out of your comfort zone. Working with so many colors as a requirement was way outta my comfort zone! I did change the orientation on the square of the sketch. I decided to stay with the traditional card size cause I don't have the larger envelopes.

I love the Pure Innocence images!! ~ Rhonda

Going OFF on the 4th!

My oldest son, Reed turns 19 today. My firecracker baby arrived at 1:30 am. We arrived at the hospital at 1:01 am. He was in a hurry to arrive knowing that the celebration was sure to be all about him. We celebrated with a big dinner last night as we are going to the lake today with other families. His sweet girlfriend Erika joined us. Ice cream cake from Cold Stone Creamery was delicious.

My card was simple and quick! I used the clip art that Melissa Phillips had linked from Country Living.

Hope you have a wonderful celebration! We so appreciate all who serve to protect our country! Blessings to all. ~ Rhonda

Take 3:Summer

I'm outside my color box for today's card. Awhile back Nicole Heady posted Spring color schemes from each designer in this post. I decided to give Heather Nichol's scheme a try. A also used this great sketch from 2sketches4U

I love the results! It feels, light, airy, and oh so fun! Take 3:Summer is the perfect set for quick cards. Add the die cut flowers, and impression plates and you are done.

Are your plans in place for the holiday weekend? We will be spending the day at the lake! ~ Rhonda
