Follow your Dreams!

Today is the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!! The theme is FLOWERS. I used the Anniversary Set, so if you haven't received yours yet and don't want to see it, Don't open this post.

I was inspired to use orange after visiting The Spa at La Costa in San Diego. My brother treated my SIL, Mom, and myself to a girls day out. We had a wonderful time. Look at these gorgeous flowers.

I used the new Botanical Silhouettes set for my flowers and the new Garden Variety Die for my large flower pot. I did cut maybe a 1/4 of a inch off the bottom. Love the way it looks.

You can see I used the linen impression plate on the pot in the picture below.

Happy Hopping Everyone!

Class of 2011

When you have a graduate, the graduate usually has lots of friends that are graduating too!!! I needed a card I could mass produce easily for the invitations that are still arriving in the mail.

The base of the card is some subway art that I created. I put each grad's full name in the center and the date of their graduation below. The graduation cap is a svg file I purchased from Sure Cuts a Lot. I tried to match the tassel to the school colors.I really like the way they turned out!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Graduation!!!

Hi Everyone!! I've been missing in action since our cruise. Life has been absolutely crazy. On return from a fabulous cruise, I "was rockin" for another week. Suffice to say that the waves in my office were larger than on the ship.

I then had to go into overdrive to prepare for my youngest son's High School Graduation which was Friday nite. But to make things exciting I had to have an unplanned root canal on Tuesday and then another one on Thursday.

The only crafty thing I have pictures of is the wonderfully fun Candy Bar that I created for the Graduation Reception.

What do you think about the vellum streamers?

The all-night party was a blast but I'm still recovering. Pain meds help. :)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Have you noticed that BIG bows are all the rage??? Since I have short hair and no little girls, this trend has not applied to me but a big bow on a card I can do!! and a big bow needs some additional bling. This Verve Joshua verse is perfect for a little house embellishment.

But I didn't stop with one house as I pulled the shrink plastic out and used the PTI Handmade with Love dies to create additional charms. I used my Copic markers to "paint" them.

If you try your hand at some charms, let me know so I can see! ~Rhonda

Can you tell that I fell in LOVE with October Afternoon's Seaside paper? PTI's Make a Wish dies make birthday cards especially easy to do.

Am I the only one that almost never used white as a card base anymore? I seem to gravitate to the cream. The sentiment stamped on its side is a nice change of pace.

Thanks for visiting! ~Rhonda

stamps: PTI - Simple Sentiments,

Friendship

I have really had fun making myself work with LOTS of patterned paper. Even several weeks ago I don't think I could have pulled this off but it seems to be clicking this week. This card was inspired by the fact that my hubby and I leave today for a CRUISE!! white sand beaches and sunny days here we COME!!!

I love the little boy in this paper. Friend is stamped on the PTI double ended banner die and the sweet ship is Verve's Text Objects paper pieced.

I like the friendship quote stamped on the yellow floral. "There are big ships and small ships. But the best ship of all is friendship. Friendship is the golden thread that ties the heart of all the world". - John Evelyn

He has made Everything . . .

Happy Monday everyone!!! Purple, yellow, and a beautiful green makes me think SPRING!!! All my trees are budding or already out. Their leaves are my favorite lime green early spring color.

My card is based on the 1st April Verve sketch for the month as well as PTI's Make it Monday #8 and #9!! I didn't get the card posted in time for #8 blending but was pleasantly surprised that #9 is heat embossing which I did as well.

For my blending, I used PTI's spring moss, lemon tart, and plum pudding. I then used clear embossing for my Plain Jane Verve flower. I love the added texture that this provides for the sentiment. ~Rhonda

stamps: Verve - Plain Jane Ecclesiastes 3:11, Plain Jane flower

Happy April Fool's Day Everyone!!!! Any pranks at your house?

What makes you think of SPRING??? Butterflies, flowers, bunnies? This month the Verve Team has dared us to make a card, project, layout, or whatever fits our stamping style using this month's theme - Color Me Spring!

Easter is one of the hallmark's of spring for me. This year it falls on the latest possible date: April 25. Only once in the past 100 years—in 1886—has it been so late. It will not happen again in this century.

I just received my Everlasting Life set from Verve with this wonderful sentiment. I love the impression plate with the royal velvet paper.

I also made this ATC for my growing collection. This is were I start when I'm having mojo trouble. The slighter smaller size seems to be an easier place to start on some days.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I'm packing for my upcoming cruise!!!  ~Rhonda

stamps: Verve - Everlasting Life, Thoughtful Florals
paper: Cosmo Cricket - Pixie-licioius; PTI - Royal Velvet, Vintage Cream

I hope you know . . .

Another project from my Mouse, Paper, Scissors Class. This album is seriously CUTE!! The theme is "I hope you know YOU are FABulous!

It started by making clear plastic covers and then lots of different pages. Don't you LOVE the polka dot book spine? I love the addition of crepe paper. I need to incorporate that element into some cards.

A coin envelope, a blue envelope, a vellum envelope, polka dot pages, lots of "pockets" for things to hide in.

I made other elements that I punched out with my 1 3/4" circle punch and used my tiny attacher.

I NEED more of the envelopes with the string.

I can't wait to try this in other color combos. Thanks for stopping by friends! ~Rhonda

"Family" subway art

Have you seen the subway art that is floating around the blogosphere? The first piece I created was for a blogging friend that always makes me SMILE. I was so excited with the project that I didn't even take a picture!!!! I forgot in my hurry to put it in the mail.

They are designed to fit a square frame.

I have now make several more. They make a great gift. What do you think? Do you want one??? Take care friends!! ~Rhonda

PTI BLOG HOP - Hi!

Hi Everyone! Can you believe it's time for another PTI hop? The challenge is to use embroidery floss on your project. Thankfully my new release goodies arrived in time to use as well.

I decided to use label basics to create a background paper that I could use for cards and belly band for a PTI plastic box.

The tiny tag set is so CUTE!!!! The perfect embellishment for the box and cards.

I punched holes in the side of the plastic box with my Big Bite punch so the floss wouldn't slide too much. The polka dot frames are ADORABLE!

Happy Hopping Everyone!! ~Rhonda

I LOVE the banner stamps but have never really put together a card that I love. The balance seemed OFF until today. I kept thinking that there were only the bigger shapes in PTI's set until I say this inspiration from Mona here. My ah ha moment!!! The flags!!!!!

It would be so easy to change the colors to make this more manly!! I think I have a new go-to birthday design.

I also put the sentiment on the banner die with makes this card perfect for the Whimsie Doodle Wednesday Challenge.

Hope everyone is doing well!! I'm running around with my head cut off!! heading to my Zumba class next. It's FUN!! ~Rhonda
