A B C

I am taking another on-line class from Jessica Sprague called The Art of Poster Design. Our 1st assignment was this ABC typography project. My project is a gift for a yet to be born baby with the initials of JEO hence those letters are highlighted. My Photoshop skills have improved greatly through Jessica's classes.

Don't you LOVE these fonts?

I can't wait to see what other projects are planned! ~Rhonda

i love . . .

I am finally at an end of Valentine cards and projects. I hope you can stand one more. I made lots of M&M sticks last year here and really didn't plan I making any this year but I got a wild hair and well you know how that goes. I wanted to do something for the high school girls at church that I work with.

I used PTI's limitless layer dies and Verve's Love Notes for the sentiment and heart.

A big bag of M&M's makes 56 sticks. I was too late to find the bags of red and white but I don't thing anyone will mind.

I also made 2 more last minute cards.

Are u going out tonight? We are staying in. I'm making pasta with pink sauce. I stopped by Central Market earlier and picked up an assortment of lovely chocolate desserts. Have a great Valentine's Day everyone!!! ~ Rhonda

More Valentines

Day 7 of PTI's Anniversary Celebration is happening today. We are to create a project that incorporates hearts into it's design. I just happen to have a card ready to go for this one.

I made this card especially for a little girl named Chloe. I'm sure you can see her name on the heart using the Fresh Alphabet stamps. I choose to use the circle die stripe (can anyone tell the name of this one, I tried looking on the new website and can't find it) and the Sunshine Impression plate.

I love to cut lots of the die shape with the bottom colors being different to give dimension. This heart is Verve's Jotted Heart die. I love this shape. A little twine from The Twinery and all is good.

Hope you are having a great day. We were supposed to have a church workday but it is sooo cold here that it was canceled. A little more time to get inky! ~Rhonda

Thankful Thursday #6

Just a quick post today. Everyone is busy playing along with PTI's Anniversary Events. Next week I'll have a featured Stamper again too. Hope your week is going well. Mine is going faster than a speeding bullet!

Happy Day Friends!! ~Rhonda

the Happiest of Birthdays - Dawn's digi image

One more digi image project today and then I have to focus of the rest of life. This image is Dawn McVey's. I love the mix of fonts. Can you tell I have also rediscovered the background stamps?? I never used them much but that is changing.

Doesn't Raspberry Fizz make you HAPPY!! Have a great day everyone! ~Rhonda

Edited to add: Karen at Little Scrap Pieces is having a pink challenge at her blog. I added my little birthday card. Thanks for letting me know Karen.

for you . . . from me

Today is the first celebration day of Papertrey Ink's 5th Anniversary!!! The challenge was to use the inspiration of the design team for a project.

I was all over the place in designing this bag. My craft table looks like a bomb went OFF! I loved Danielle's glassine invitations and Melissa's new project using her favorite things. I think that is what inspiration is ALL about. You see all the designs and your brain starts spinning and then you just get busy.

I'm thankful for each of the creative Design Team members that share a part of themselves with me each day. I have learned and stretched and enjoyed it so much!! Happy Anniversary PTI! ~Rhonda

Thankful Thursday #5

I'm so late on posting my TT #5. I have been busy shipping orders for stamps that I was selling.

Thankful Thursday #5. I have a set of cards for this week. I'm trying to build a healthy stockpile of cards so whenever I create the idea is to make several using the same items. I do tend to get bored easily so I change the layout in some manner.

All of these used the Mat Stack #5 collection from PTI. Cutting them out and embossing all at once makes the process faster.

One card gets twine in a horizontal layout and another goes vertical. Have you noticed all the twine I have been using??? LOVE The Twinery. This color is Buttercream.

Did some machine stitching on a couple. . . I'm sure you get the picture.

My card this week is being sent to a friend that opened her home for a Gone With the Wind movie night. I am not sure when I saw this film last but it was a fun evening. Love the dresses and that Scarlett is quite the girl.

Would love for you to play along. ~Rhonda

XOXO

Happy February!!! Can you believe it? Not sure about you but I'm finding I need to be much more intentional with my time. The time is speeding by and then those "projects" don't happen. What do you need to accomplish in February??

My card today is simple but I LOVE it. The heart is the Jotted Heart die from Verve as well as the XOXO stamp.

Did you notice that my heart is about 4 layers deep? You will be seeing this a lot from me. I like the depth without using pop dots. By making the bottom layers another color you get the added pop of color that sings!

Would love to know what projects you are working on in February. Thanks for stopping by!! ~Rhonda

Hello Friend

It's the start of another new week!! and a new month on Wednesday!! You might recognize this paper. I used it on a card here. I'm trying very hard to make lots of things with the scraps that pile up on my desk. A creative push sometimes.

I used the negative from the Bloom Builders die #3 for the background of my gift sack.

Have you made a thank you card?? Be sure to link up to my Thankful Thursdays! ~ Rhonda

PS - I'm not listing my supplies cuz it was making me tired and took the fun out of creating. If you have a question, I'll be happy to answer.

Thankful Thursday #4

(Oops, went live a little early. Enjoy!)

Who do you need to thank this week? One of my cards is going to the sweet young ladies that work at my local Sonic. I showed up to get my medium Coke with extra ice on Tuesday only to discover that my wallet was NOT in my purse. They gave me my drink on the house!!! I LOVE Sonic!

My cards this week use MFT Frames/Quotes set. I really like the shape of this die.

Playing along with my Thankful Thursday this week is Carol. Her blog the Crafty "Magra" is a delight to visit. She whipped out a card using the new PTI Mat Stack 5 with the Harvest Berries Stamp set. Love the shape of this set. The button detail is fabulous. You also have to see this wonderful birthday album Carol made to celebrate her husband's birthday. Carol is one gracious lady. Thanks for playing!

I would love to feature someone new every week!! Play along and make sure you leave me a way to contact you. Visiting new blogs is always fun.

Have a great day. Thank YOU for visiting. ~Rhonda

Friendship gift set

I made this gift set for a friend's birthday.

6 cards total - 2 of each color. Matching twine from The Twinery.

The paper is Funky Town from PTI. The sentiments are Half & Half from PTI. The cute birds are Verve's Wordy Birds.

My bow is the Loopsy-Daisy die cut from vellum paper.

The gift box inspiration is from I Am Derby. Lots of inspiration on her blog.

I hope your week starts and ends great!! ~ Rhonda

Thankful Thursday #3

Still going strong on writing thank you's! My card today is for my Christmas Decor team that set-up/took-down Christmas for clients. Tangled Christmas lights were par for the course.

I hope you are upping your gratitude this week. It is a win win for everyone.

Come play along. ~ Rhonda

Thankful Thursday #2

Thankful Thursday #2!! If you missed it last week, my goal for the year is to Up My Gratitude in 2012. I plan to write at least one thank you a week at a minimum but one a day would be the ultimate goal. I'm doing pretty well. I'm on #14. I would love for you to link up a thank you and help keep me accountable.

My card this week definitely has a masculine, graphic feel. All the patterns make your eyes cross when looking at the photo on the computer. I think I like it a lot more in person.

I thought it would be fun to "feature" someone who linked up from the previous week. Joyce is such an encourager. If you are ever on the PTI forum, you can count on her to make sweet comments and welcome one and all. I love her style and think you will get lots of inspiration from her blog - Cards by the Sea.

Joyce

Along with this thank you card, I recently swooned over this love card. Thanks Joyce for playing along!!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week. Make sure you thank someone today!! ~ Rhonda

Just Because

I love the font and design of PTI's Simple Sentiments. They fit the double ended banner die perfectly and are so easy to use.

A little stitching of the Love Lives Here butterfly finishes this card.

We are getting a much needed rain today. I hope you are enjoying a wonderful day wherever you are! ~ Rhonda

Thankful Thursday #1

Happy 2012 Everyone!!! Do you still take the long walk down your driveway each morning to pick up the morning paper? I DO!!! I still love to eat my morning Cheerios while reading the newspaper. Did you happen to read the article in the Parade Magazine on Sunday by John Kralik called Up Your Gratitude? In 2008 he began a year of thank-yous. You can Google to find the complete article.

I thought as a card maker this would be a worthy challenge for myself and should be easy!!! Ya RIGHT!! But I decided I would try. But after just a couple of days, I'm already getting legalistic with myself so set a few ground rules. The card doesn't have to be handmade ----GASP--- and if I don't write one each day at least once a week. This would be more than last year.
I am also going to do Thankful Thursday on my blog. I would love for you to link up and play along. I can use the accountability.

My first cards are actually postcard Christmas thank yous. Just turn them over and start writing.

I hope you will join me in thanking those who have impacted your life!! ~ Rhonda

Sending you Thanks!

Life has been absolutely crazy. My office/craft room remodel has been happening which means my supplies have been inaccessible since November!!! But it didn't keep me from ordering MORE STUFF!! I received PTI's "A Big Thank You" with my latest order. I made a few Christmas thank you cards. See what you think.

I used the leaves from the Holly Jolly collection die for a little accent.

The Damask Snowflake die is a perfect size for the large sentiment in this set.

 Love this snowflake.

I pray that everyone had a Merry Christmas and the New Year that begins will be full of blessings. ~ Rhonda
